Video Story Final

This video is about Florida and all the fun things that my friends and I did while we were there. I had so much B-roll footage it was hard to choose what to include since I only could have so much footage with the time restrictions I decided to mostly include the interviews which I thought were the most important because they added a lot of dialogue to the story. Some struggles that I went through was stabilizing my camera while shooting B-Roll footage as I don’t own a tripod. My videos were stable for what I was working with. Another challenge I faced was the weather while we were there. We maybe got one nice day while the other days were cloudy and rainy. The beach footage wasn’t as good as I planned it to be. The final and most challenging struggle was just simply finding time to video as I was on vacation and with friends so finding time was difficult as we were busy doing numerous activities while on the beach or at the condo.

My favorite part of the trip was the beach of course which was nice for one day out of the four we were there. We met many people and got to play Spikeball the whole time we were there. I loved taking videos of my friends, it was almost like filming a documentary. It is so cool to video somewhere other than Missouri as there is rarely anything genuinely cool going on. The landscape also was outstanding in Florida which gave me some awesome saturated B-roll footage to work with without having to really enhance anything. I wish I was allowed more time on the video, more than two minutes because there was so much more footage that I wanted to include. I am happy with how the interviews turned out though as I feel it will keep the viewer engaged and give them some back story to the trip as well as my friends. I think in my future assignments I really want to work on getting better B-roll footage that tells more of a story in general. I got a lot of nature shots which is good, but maybe next time shooting people walking on the beach or swimming would be a great way to show more character regardless of how many interviews that I have to include with the assignment.
